God Chooses a Family
Grade 5

This is the first book in the series The Story of God's Chosen Family. This level covers Old Testament history from Creation to the prophet Samuel. Children are encouraged to follow the example of faithful characters, such as Enoch, Noah, and Abraham. They observe God's mercy at work, even with those who disobeyed God, but they are also reminded that God does not overlook sin.

A variety of question types includes multiple choice and filling in blanks. There are also vocabulary studies and other educational exercises on subjects like family lines, slavery in Bible times, and the Nazarite vow. One lesson in each chapter diverts from the chronological study to additional aspects of the Bible, such as observing Bible geography, dating Bible events, and using Bible study helps.

The pupil's book has 30 lessons divided into 6 chapters, a review for each chapter, and a final review. A test for each chapter and a final test are in a separate booklet with tear-out sheets.

The teacher's manual, bound with a durable cover, has a reduced copy of the pupil's workbook with the answers filled in. Oral reviews, main points, suggested memory passages, and other notes to the teacher are in the margins.

God's Chosen Family as a Nation
Grade 6

This second book in the series The Story of God's Chosen Family covers Old Testament history from King Saul to the end of the Old Testament.

As the pupils study the Israelite kings, the prophets, and the nations' responses to God's messengers, they see the importance of right choices and the awful results of rejecting truth. They follow the Israelite nation, both the Northern and Southern Kingdoms, to captivity because of their sin. They return with a remnant of Jews to rebuild the nation of Judah in the face of opposition from surrounding enemies.

The Bible is the pupil's textbook. The workbook guides the pupil through the study of the Bible as he looks up verses and answers the questions. A variety of question types includes multiple choice and filling in the blank. There are also vocabulary studies and other educational exercises on such subjects as music in Bible times, the ten "lost" tribes of Israel, and doctors in Bible times. Five lessons focus on Life in Bible Times: "What Did People Wear?" "The Israelite Family," "Israel's Neighbors," "Foods and Mealtime Customs," and "Making a Living." Each of these lessons also includes a section on using Bible study books.

God Visits His Chosen Family
Grade 7

This book begins a survey of New Testament history, covering the events of Jesus' birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension, comparing the four Gospel records to better understand the overall picture. Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament take on new meaning as the pupil considers the significance of Jesus' life and teaching. He learns how the church began and how God worked through His people to spread the Gospel "into all the world."

This book completes the series The Story of God's Chosen Family. It covers the New Testament from Romans to Revelation. Outlines are given for each of these books. This course emphasizes the value and necessity of the church and how God's people are to serve Him and relate to others. Solutions to problems are outlined, and edification and encouragement are presented. Subjective questions require students to think carefully.

The Completion of God's Plan for Man

This book completes the series of God's Plan for His People. It discusses the Creation and Fall of Man, his sinful condition and need of a Saviour, and God's plan of redemption and man's future as he responds to God's plan. The Bible is the pupil's textbook. Truth for Life
Grades 7 or 8

This older course (not part of the new series) is complete with "Questions" and "Things to Do" with each of the 35 lessons. It covers a variety of Biblical topics including the plan of salvation and Christian growth. It is designed to provide doctrinal and practical truths for the student and to acquaint him with the various methods of Bible study.

The Human Register
Time Line

This time line covers the approximately 6,000 years of history from the Creation up to the current century. It consists of thirteen laminated wall cards, each 12" wide x 9" high. It has about 130 captions with over 60 color illustrations that help to pinpoint when key Bible events took place. However, the focus is on the scope of human history rather than on precise chronology.

The Human Register is designed to complement Rod and Staff's Bible courses, but it also may be used with history courses or as a helpful addition to Sunday School classes.
