They Would Not Be Silent

Harvey Yoder

The Christians whose stories are told in this book lived under communism and decided that the cost of suffering for their faith was worth the "...glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18). By choosing to serve God, they also chose to suffer for His sake.

In essence, these people are like anyone else -- they have feelings and emotions that run deep. But they have an uncommon commitment: "...they love not their lives unto the death" (Revelation 2:11). How are they different from you and me? That depends on our level of commitment.

Each of their stories is unique, yet one mutual thread is evident throughout -- they would not be silent concerning their devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.
